What is your philosophy on birth?

We consider pregnancy and childbirth to be normal and natural events that are inherent in human lives. Pregnancy is not a disease or a condition that needs to be treated and birth is not a medical event or emergency that needs to be managed. Pregnancy and birth are natural events that are best left untouched and given room to unfold in their own unique ways. We believe that most healthy women have the ability to birth naturally and safely without the use of medical intervention as the overuse of this may interfere with the process of birth and the ability to achieve a healthy outcome for both mother and baby.

What is your experience/training?

Both midwives have attended a MEAC accredited school and passed the NARM exam, becoming CPM's. Both midwives have taken the Legend's Drug's and Devices course necessary for Oregon Licensure, both midwives are certified in neonatal resuscitation and adult and child CPR. We have both been midwives for over three years and have attended over 90 birth each.

What is special about your business (ec. hospital backup, work in a hospital, work in a birth center, etc.)?

We work with women in their home who are desiring a homebirth. We offer free birth tub rental to our clients and we do not require the purchase of a birth kit. We also work with low income families by offering a sliding scale fee.

We offer up front, installments, insurance billing, cash, check money order, bartering if possible.
