Becoming more familiar

by Chante
(IN)

Our little girl is two months old now and I've been EC'ing for a solid month. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I wake up and she wakes up. I have to immediately take her or else I might miss it. I still can't see that she does any special things to signal her elimination need except for squirming around and grunting which she also does when she needs to burp.

However, there are times, in the afternoon, when I can actually hear things rumbling inside her. One day I took it upon myself to act on these sounds and gave her a pottytunity (potty opportunity). Sooner than later, she was eliminating (I'm still seemingly only catching poos)! So now I pay close attention to those rumblings. I'm so glad I wear her most of the day. I wouldn't be able to hear those rumblings if she was away from me.

There are so many things that come together once you start going down the natural motherhood path. Breastfeeding leads to co-sleeping (as the easiest solution to breastfeeding at night) and babywearing. Babywearing helps immensely in elimination communication. These things are all interrelated and helps any Mama become a pro at meeting her baby's needs most efficiently.
