Day 17 - What Were We Talking About?

by Chante
(IN)

I find myself saying that sometimes. Mostly during our Art, Music and Science times. Those subjects just seem to have so many rabbit trails to follow! History is interwoven throughout all of them as well as Geography so, one little lesson can turn into a week long side study VERY easily.

I've come to enjoy these fluid learning times. We flow from one thing to the next. I'm more of a structured person who thinks the best way is just doing what the curriculum tells us to do, but I'm steadily learning new ways. I constantly see that Jesus can DEFINITELY take care of our ramblings, puling them all together to make them relevant and memorable for the children. It's so easy to home school when I just let go. Let go of the standards and stress of not performing up to par and just go with the flow.

As a Christian home schooler, if I'm praying everyday for the Holy Spirit to lead us in what we need to learn that day, do I need to worry any more? Didn't Jesus (the Word in the flesh) already have our little time of home schooling the fruit of my womb all worked out before He even established one speck of our universe? I think so.

After all, He wouldn't be God without being able to do stuff like that.

This is what I trust Him for everyday we attempt to learn. This is my mainstay and my guiding light. His awesome power at work in our learning times do not negate my own preparation, it simply humbles it. No matter how well I plan, I can NEVER out plan God!!!!
