Deflating the Hope Bubble - (2/9/10)

My bubble of hope for my future SBI! site has deflated a little. I looked at hundreds more websites SBI! users made and some of the top ones are in my interest categories. Those similar sites are SOOOO GOOOOOOODDDDD. They look GREAT!!!! If I had found their sites before mine I wouldn't want to go anywhere else! My little site in the same category would be stymied. Soooo...I'm a bit depressed. I'm intimidated. How can I compete with that?

I found out that the affiliate program lets you build other people's sites too. It would be a lot of work though. Making one site is enough work. I might only make a couple people's sites. Now I see why they charge so much.

I thought I might have one SBI! affiliate site and one interest site, but I could just put up some links to SBI! from the interest site. I guess I'll just focus on trying to start and build that one. I'll become an affiliate first (just in case I can refer a sale while I'm waiting) and when I get the money, get my own site!

Only thing is I'm sure I can link my interests to productive traffic. Plus, some of my passions are controversial. I might just stick with a safe interest to start off with and when I've gained some experience, then go back and do what I really want. Kinda sad that my passions might not be profitable....

I know of one small business owner who bought their site with another host. Man! I KNOW they'd LOVE SBI! It's so user friendly and has everything there for you, even things you didn't think of (like automatic search engine pinging so they know you made a new page and send their spiders to crawl it). Maybe the site can get switched over to SBI! later on with no problem....
