Someone Wants To Graduate

by Chante

When I last wrote, we were taking a bit of a break from EC due to the complaints of my husband.

Since then, my husband has given us the green light to try EC again in earnest! When we resumed practicing, my little one seemed just as eager as I was.

She jumped right back into EC'ing! She would hold it until I gave her pottytunities. She seemed to be working with me as if she was never in diapers. Our little EC pause didn't seem to interfere with her knowledge of herself.

She even developed the ability to take herself to the bathroom. One day she told me she had to go to the bathroom by saying, "Mommy potty" and just went. I went in to help her get on her stool and get ready. She's learning the bathroom process and how to use toilet paper correctly too!

I've noticed that she's dry when waking up and we can catch her every time she wakes up. During the say she's dry as well. We even went to the pool and shopping without a diaper. She just went to the bathroom with her bothers and sisters and had no leaks.

So, I guess I can consider her an EC graduate! Wow, the road here was a bit different than what I expected. I expected to be here a few months back. I also expected no interruptions in our learning time. I am thankful for everything we've been through. Our relationship is so much closer because of our time EC'ing together. I never had to deal with a power hungry toddler fighting my efforts to potty train them. All in all, the experience was smooth sailing. We had our ups and downs and times when I felt like I failed as an EC Mom, but the reality is, as long as you keep at it (no mater the frequency) you won't fail!
