First Day of School!

Pre-K First Day of School 2010-2011 School Year

Pre-K First Day of School 2010-2011 School Year

Pre-K First Day of School 2010-2011 School Year Third Grade First Day of School 2010-2011 School Year

Today was our first day of school. I figure we'll have some days off from here to 180 so I like to start early.

My oldest son started the day off nice when he calculated the seconds in 15 and 45 min. quickly in his head. I thought that was a promising outlook on how much retention he has.

Since it was going to be hot today (92) we decided to have P.E. early. The children ran relay races and rode their bikes.

When we got back in I remembered to take a first day of school picture. I have two "classes" now. I don't really go by class, but for the sake of helping others understand their level I use their age. This year our two oldest are in 3rd grade and my 3yo is in Pre-K. The 2yo and baby are still in the Nursery.

Our schedule this year is the same as last year. It may look like overkill, but if we hit everything we're doing good. I like to aim high so if we happen to fall short for some reason, we're still doing okay.

Our schedule looks like this:

7am - prepare breakfast
7:30 - eat breakfast
8am - Bible
8:30 - handwriting (olders) Aqua-Doodle (youngers)
9am - english (Spell to Write and Read)
9:30 - math (Right Start)
10am - art
10:30 - French (Muzzy)(M, W)/Science (Apologia Astronomy)(T, TH)
11am - history (olders) read-aloud (youngers)
11:30 - Lunch
12-1 P.E.
1pm - Geography
1:30 - Music (piano for olders) recorder (youngers)
2pm - Home Ec.
2:30pm - Literature (various)

We made it through Home Ec. today and it ran long. We switched some things around too.

It looks like it's going to be a promising year!
