One of the Best Things You'll Ever Do

by A Natural Mama
(USA)

Look at us! We're here and healthy!

Look at us! We're here and healthy!

This isn't a topic to speak briefly on, but I'll try to keep it brief...

I wondered recently why it was that I ever even knew that I would breastfeed. I hadn't seen it growing up. I knew no one who had done it.

Then it occurred to me, CASSIE! My good friend from Minnessota. She came to visit after having her daughter. She just whipped her milk supply out. It made all the sense in the world to me, but I didn't recognize its powerful impact until I was feeding my first child. It was never even a question as to if I should or not.

It is how our children receive nourishment at such an early stage in their lives and it is perfect! It is evidence of the CREATER! We have everything we need right inside of us, folks always say, and in this case we certainly do.

To mothers who are hesitant, it is usually because of societal pressure which in many cases is silent. It comes in the form of a look, a flinch, a look away.....you know when someone disapproves. Their disapproval comes from their inability to recognize the voice in themselves that embrace the truth.

The day I stopped breastfeeding my first baby was because I was pregnant. The process of breastfeeding allows the uterus to contract, which by the CREATER'S amazin' design, allows our tummies to get smaller and will interfere with our new baby's life. I had to stop. It left me feeling depressed and I didn't know why at first.

I am currently pregnant and writing this is causing me to contract. .....so magical.

Breastfeeding my son felt more rewarding than anything I had ever done. It was like giving lid=fe all over again. Especially when you watch them suck n suck n suck literally for dear life.

Happy nursing ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very Important Idea
by: Chante

You mentioned that all they need is inside us already, That's a very powerful thought. There are many things in society that try to tell breastfeeding mothers that they're deficient or lacking in some way. Self-confidence, stemming from the knowledge that it is in us, would help lots of mothers out. You can do this! You have the means right inside your body (for those that can breastfeed without medical problems).

Thanks for sharing your encouraging words.
