The Emotional Side of EC
by Chante
(IN)
I'm getting used to taking her to the toilet during a diaper change if I don't catch her before. She doesn't seem to have any cues except movement though so it's a bit confusing. I just wait till I hear a grunt or the actual eliminating. Then I take off her diaper and put her on. Today I caught poos but not one single pee. Pees are elusive to me.
I still don't have the little Baby Bjorn potty, but I do have a potty with a padded seat I sometimes put her on. That's more comfortable for me although I don't know about her. She just stays quiet when I hold her in a sitting position. I also get down on the floor with her. She's peed in it so it's not totally alien to her, although I'm still desperately desiring that BB.
I'm finding my heart bonding more to her as I'm taking her to the toilet. Perhaps it's due to the increased skin-to-skin time of me holding her over the toilet. I just feel like this closeness will be with us forever! It's so sweet!
Oh yeah, seeing the baby go has been helping my 2yo to want to go and get more efficient himself! =) That's a nice little perk.
