The Vaccination Safety Debate

Vaccination safety is becoming more of a concern for parents. While most mainstream parents don’t think twice about whether or not to immunize their children, natural parents are questioning the practice more and more.

Debate pic used for vaccination safety debate page

Proponents of vaccination safety are quick to label such parents as, “fearful”, “misguided” and “uninformed”. The purpose of this page is to inform those that don’t know, about the debate.

Both sides will be presented. Their arguments will be clearly laid out. Use the numbers to match up the arguments with their rebuttals.

It is ultimately up to parents to decide what is best for their child/ren.

Vaccination Safety Proponents

  1. Vaccines are safe.

  2. The reason some diseases are so rare is because the vast majority of the population is vaccinated against them.

    1. Children should receive all recommended scheduled vaccinations on time

  3. Vaccinations provide immunity from the diseases they are named for.

  4. Lay persons should not be trying to make decisions based on data they do not and can not fully understand.

  5. Not EVERY health official, gov’t official and health organization are taking money from pharmaceutical companies, so there is no conflict of interest.

  6. The polio vaccine wiped out polio.

  7. People have a responsibility to each other to keep those around us safe form infectious diseases. Some do this by vaccinating.

Vaccination Safety Opponents

  1. Bottles of vaccine carry long lists of adverse affects.

    1. There has never been a valid study of the safety of shots using a large enough un-vaccinated group of children.

  2. The risks of coming down with some of the diseases on the CDC immunization schedule are low (for diseases like tetanus, polio and diptheria) so children don't need all shots scheduled.

    1. Why would a baby born to a couple in a monogamous, long-term relationship, who have previously tested negative for Hep B, need to receive a newborn Hepatitis B shot?

  3. Coming down with the disease naturally causes immunity from further infection, such as with varicella (Chicken Pox).

  4. Most lay persons wouldn’t feel the need to educate themselves in topics that might be above their heads if they didn’t feel like they were being lied to by gov’t and health officials.

  5. The fact that big pharmaceutical corporations pay money to doctors, hospitals and health organizations presents a conflict of interest that CANNOT be overlooked.

  6. CDC officials changed the reporting of polio symptoms which caused the cases of polio to decrease. This happened around the same time the vaccinations were being given.

  7. People have a responsibility to themselves to keep their own bodies as healthy as possible. Some do this by staying away from vaccines that contain known, dangerous ingredients (ex. aluminum, thimerosal, formaldehyde).
